Admission to Primary Day

The Primary Day School is the ideal school for young children who are bright, curious, and eager to learn. A Primary Day education develops vital learning skills, builds self-confidence and character, and fosters a love of learning. Our students grow as learners and as citizens, and at graduation they move on to achieve remarkable success in the region’s finest public and private schools.

Most students begin their Primary Day education in the Pre-Kindergarten program, though we typically have a limited number of openings each year in Kindergarten.

We base admission decisions on criteria that include school readiness, a child’s maturity, and teacher recommendations (if a child has previously been in a school environment). All applicants also take part in two required school visits, which help us get to know your child in both one-on-one and group settings.

Who Should Apply

We encourage applications from anyone seeking a quality education for their child during the crucial early learning years. We admit qualified applicants without regard to race, color, ethnicity, religious background, or national origin. Financial aid supports many families with demonstrated financial need.

To Learn More

Interested parents are encouraged to inquire online and to visit the school during one of our two comprehensive Open House programs, scheduled for Tuesday, November 16 and Thursday, December 2, 2010.  Each day’s program begins with informal tours between 9:00 and 9:30am followed by our program overview and the opportunity to meet with individual classroom and resource teachers until 10:45am.
